Safeguarding
Policy Statement
The trustees of Leadenham Village Hall 2000 recognise their duty of care to take reasonable steps to safeguard people who may be vulnerable.
We are committed to:
- Providing a safe environment within the limits of a community village hall
- Promoting awareness of safeguarding responsibilities among trustees and volunteers
- Ensuring that safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and responded to appropriately
- Expecting hirers who work with children or adults at risk to have their own suitable safeguarding arrangements in place
- Requiring hirers to obtain any necessary consent for photography or media involving children or adults at risk during their activities
- Acting in line with Charity Commission guidance and good practice for small charities
- Ensuring that trustees and volunteers formally acknowledge their safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to act in accordance with this policy.
This policy is supported by simple safeguarding procedures and records, which explain how concerns are raised, recorded and escalated if needed.
